On the second day of the training course we divived into the topic of radicalization. Our facilitators asked us to work in teams and create a list of 5 most important keys/triggers of this issue. We later had a debate on the importance of the triggers. Each team had to decide together and put them in the right order according to their importance and frequency of occurence.
Later we were divided into two groups and had to write our own definiton of radicalization and present it to the whole group.
After coffee break our task was to divide into 3 groups and talk about marginalized youth, ethnic minorities and migrants in order to learn about their situation in our countries. We shared our thoughts and opinions as well as our personal experience. Later on the spoker person from each group briefly summarized what we talked about, so we could all reflect on each topic. When we finished, Tiziano used some significant quotes to reflect on.
After the lunch break we had a session outside discussing creative solutions to marginalization. We had to chose from 2 options (whether agree or disagree) of different statements. This decision was not easy to make, so we had to think twice before making the decision. The two opposite sides had to debate about the statements.
During our last session, one of the participants – Alfa – has given a speech on the situation of radicalization in Western Africa. The rest of the group listened and then could comment and ask questions.
After Alfa’s presentation another participant of the training – Houda – talked about her experience as a spanish citizen of a Moroccan origin.
At the end of the day we all gathered in the training room to participate in the intercultural evening. Everybody had a chance to talk about their countries.
That was an impressive, hard working but delightful day, can’t wait for tommorrow!
