Birth of Prejudice
\nThis morning the group was apparently going through a storming phase, as the mood seemed conflictual among some participants, it was very appreciated and useful to do the exercise in pairs, having to imagine the story of the other person by just looking at them. For a few the notions hereby presented were very important and essential learning into understanding the topic.
\nThe group is assigned photos of famous people in their Youth, so that they are not recognizable, and the sub-groups need to make-up the story of these people by just observing the pictures.

The iceberg of culture
\nThe trainers will prepare and present to the participants information related to: 1. What is\u00bb learning \u00ab? – Learning at different levels (Cognitive learning, Emotional learning, Behavioral learning, Roles in learning, Learning methods)
\nWhat is culture? (Relevant information: culture has been referred to as the \u201csoftware\u201d that people use in daily life; it is commonly described as basic assumptions, values and norms that people have. There are many arguments and discussions theoretical and practical concepts of the culture that will be analyzed with the participants (brainstormig).
\nWe will learn about the meaning of \u00abCulture\u00bb for the 20 participants: what can be seen and what cannot be seen. Youth workers can use \u00abThe Iceberg\u00bb methods to work with mixed groups: young people with \/ without fewer opportunities. This exercise will improve your methods, especially for those who work with migrants, gypsies, refugees, minorities. Participants will realize that the \u00abupper\u00bb and \u00ablower\u00bb parts of the Iceberg are not static and totally different elements. They are, as in culture, connected, \u00abalive\u00bb and always on the move.<\/p>\n
History and connections
\nUnderstand how conflict was often in the past a connection\/contact, and put in the framework of the importance of international youth work, and the birth of movements and how they spread internationally.<\/p>\n
At first participants will put different post-it on different times in history, marking their country’s\/land’s history line.
\nSecondly they will look at links, at times in history when their countries came into contact with each other. By using a string and connecting the events.<\/p>\n
Participants are presented with a wall, on the vertical side there will be different centuries, on the horizontal one the names of the countries present.

\n\u00b7 Analyze the connections between the cultures in history – what were they and what did they bring in terms of change?

\nThe trainers will encourage participants to detect the signs of young people caught in the process of radicalization of terrorist groups. They will obtain specific materials (short presentations, documents) to identify and support someone who may be vulnerable to get involved in extremism or terrorism. Young people can be drawn to the process of radicalization in several ways, many of which can overlap.Participants will identify the most vulnerable youth, develop critical thinking skills and analyze situations. They will be more informed about the institutions and actors that face this phenomenon in Europe, about actions and projects aimed at combating radicalizations.
